The magazine that I have decided to base my magazine front cover on is Empire. I have chosen Empire because they have they style that I am going for in my front cover. they have used the three colour rule very effectively with the red white and black. these aer the three colours that I am planning to use. The colours used in these two covers make very effective and eye catching front covers. I think that the three colours work well and fit in with the gangster theme. the positioning of the camera is a low angle shot to make the people look more powerful. this helps transmit the narrative to the audience because they can see they they are powerful people who look aggressive. gangster films sometimes also have the actors holding guns to highlight this point. We usually only see a few of the main people in the American compared to the British Gangster films having a lot of people from little gangs. There is a gender bias towards males because males are shown mainly because they are more associated with guns and violence. also males have a better visual effect because they are bigger and more muscular so you think that you wouldn't want to mess with them where as you wouldn't be as scared if it were to be a women.

Editing
Today I have been editing and I have found a few points that i could improve on. The lighting in some of the scenes could be a bit brighter e.g. in the poker scene it is a bit dark. Even tough I wanted the light to be quite dim to give of the effect that they are doing the gambling in a remote area hidden away I think it might be a bit too dark. In the scene of the interrogation the talking has a bit of an echo. I could probably re film the talking in a place that has no echos and then extract the sound. The problem with doing this is it could be very hard to get the timing right for it to fit into the real filming. The scenes were there is writing to say about the story haven't come off as well as I thought I would be able to get them so I might change the writing to having the actors saying the things written instead.

Editing
Today I have done some more editing to my filming. I have added two songs from freeplaymusic.com at the moment and they are;
Army Angels by user8855158
and
Peacemaker by user8855158
I have used Peacemaker at the start of the trailer and then the Army Angels at the end. I thought that Peacemaker was good at building tension because it is very fast paced and I thought that Army Angels fitted in well with the action going on in the trailer at the end. I have now got all the main filming done it is just a few minor changes that could be made to increase the quality of the trailer. At the moment the trailer is about 2 and a half minutes. I was origionally thinking it would be about 1 and a half minutes long but I think I will be keeping it about 2 and a half minutes long becuase I will have to miss out important parts of the trailer.

Actors
The actors that I have used for the gangster films trailer are all aged or older to make it seem more realistic. This is because gangsters are rich, powerful and respected and older people could have these characteristic where as teenagers aren't going to. With having older people acting you actually believe that they could be gangsters because the films of today highlight the fact of having older people as gangsters.
This is Graham. He will be acting as the person that is owed money in the interrogation scene
This is my mum. She will be the dealer in the cards game
This is Grey. He is the main actor who will be brothers with my Dad
This is my Dad. Him and his brother Grey are the people who stole the money off Graham.

music
I have been looking at different music that would suit my film gangster trailer. I have done some editing so I have more of an idea the pace I want my music to be. I think this is the best pace of the trailer. I think it sounds a bit like James Bond music which is the right atmosphere I want to give off because the gangsters have power and action like James Bond

editing
I have done some editing today and have noticed a few of the scenes that I have done don't go together for example in the poker game the cards get delt as normal at the start but then the last twp cards seem to apear because I didn't catch them being put down on camera. I will need to refilm the poker scene because it doesn't give the feel that i wanted it to give.
This is the way I would want the poker scene to go like.
this poker game doesn't show much of the cards it is mainly the people and their reactions to the game so it feels like they have been playing for a long time. this gives the feeling that it poker game is important because they have been there for a long time. also with there not being any talking for the frist few minutes it highlights the feeling of them habving been playing for a long time.

filming
Today I filmed the scene where the suitcase is buried. This scene was very windy so you can't make out any talking so i have decided to have this scene without any talking from the actors in the shot but having a talk over of the person who's money they have stolen and are burying. I think this is the best thing to do because this scene is a flashback which will go between the person trying to get his money back his money back.
I also filmed the scene where grey robs someones wallet to show how desperate they had got to get the money. I am not sure if I will need to use this scene yet though because I already have quite a bit of filming I have already got done now

filming
Today I have done some filming. Although the actors seemed very realistic and the acting was very good we were limited to the amount of scenes that we could film. This was due to the heavy rain which ment we could not do any scenes outside. I was a bit disapointed with the amount we were able to film because it has been a bit of a problem getting all the actors together at the same time.
I managed to film two important scenes which went well. These scenes were the interagation scene and the poker scene. While filming I decided to modify the poker scene to what it was suroposed to be in the storyboard. I decided to have both my Dad and Gray in the poker scene who would cheat to win the money instead of just my Dad paying fairly and wining. I decided to do this because then the audience watching the film know that they are working together and that even though they are the main characters they are not to be trusted. Another reason why I had them together is because they walk out from the poker game together and I thought it would look more realistic if they were playing together before they walked out.

name of my film
There has been quite a lot of different ideas I have had for the name of my film trailer. I have tried to come up with a verity of different names so that I will be able to give the audience a in site into what the film will be like. The Money, The Shortest Seven Days, The Plan, Dancing With The Devil, The Robbery, Just Business and Don't Mess With Gangsters.
I think that Just Business is the best title because it sounds like it is going to be a normal job where nothing would happen but it is completely the opposite because it has lots of different things that are illegal. By having the name Just Business it also shows that they are gangsters and it is just part of their job so they don't feel bad about robbing people etc.
I got the insperation of the name Just Business from the ganagster film The Business

Georgia dropping out
Unfortunately Georgia has decided to drop out of school so she will no longer be contributing to the media work. This has affected the filming because she had got friends that were going to be used for the filming but now I will have to find new actors.
