cultural codes

Today I looked at the cultural codes and semantic codes for one character in The Royal Tenenbaums. The semantic code is where any element in a text that suggests a particular, often additional meaning by way of connatation. The cultural codes are elements in the text that refers 'to a science or a body of knowledge'. the character that i have decided to analyse was Richie. Richie is one of the main characters in the film.
